6th grade in my eyes

1. I don't know how much I have really achieved but I know I have progressed since the first day I came here. In my opinion I progressed a lot in P.E. because in the starting of fifth grade (when I was new in ISKL) I was terrible in P.E. but now I know how things go and I can do things never imagined. Some of the units that I progressed in, in P.E. are swimming, pickleball and bouldering. I have achieved my social goal which was making more friends in my race and I had this goal because I didn't have a single Indian friend last year even though I enjoyed learning about all the other cultures and races in ISKL. I haven't really reached my "school" goal because I said I wanted atleast an A as a grade but I have an A- in P.E.

2. I have learned a lot of skills in basketball, my skills improved through P.E. and U13 basketball.
In math as usual I have learnt a lot of skills such as using the number line extremely well, I know how palindromes and fractals and lots more. In my opinion the 2 subjects I have learnt the most in meaning skills and all are probably Humanities and Science. I have learned about convection currents , the Earth's interior and more in science but while learning about these things I have learned how to take notes and I learnt how to organize my binder I have learned through many fun ways in science with Ms.Rosendale. In Humanities... um... (jk) I have learnt about grammar and in my opinion I have learnt loads about Ancient Mesopotamia!!!! It was fun with Mr.Thomas this year but not only him but it was fun learning with my classmates this year. I have also learned alot in all my other classes but these are the classes I learnt the most from.

3. There are couple of skills I want to learn. First of all I want to learn all the skills in basketball through U13 basketball. I want to perfect the use of comparing fractions, decimals and peercentages because I am not very good at that it takes me a while when it comes to math problems like this. I hope I will perfect it through the winter vacation even though I know that is kind of impossible because I won't be doing Math over my vaction. I also want to be firm with grammar I know I said I have learnt that skill but I haven't perfected it yet. These are the skills I want to learn during sixth grade in ISKL.

4.I have personal goals and "school" goals. I want to be organized in school and out of school. Sometimes I forget some things and it creates a mess and I know that to stop it I need to be more organized especially at home. I also want to keep the goal of keeping an A grade in all my subjects. I also want to sleep early on weekdays and I want to eat early because that would allow me to sleep early. One of my goals is to not procastinate my homework on any day and plan out what to do on each day if I have a project. These are my goals for the rest of sixth grade and rest of my student life if possible.

Last Lit circle

I liked the book. I liked the book because it was interesting. I learnt a lot of things about survival and Brian's life seemed very understanding. I knew how Brian felt so it made it interesting to read other wise I would feel very bored not understanding anything. It was good to learn survival skills in a fun way. No one would want to buy a five hundred page survival book. So hatchet was a pretty good one about survival.

My favorite part was when the pilot comes down at the end of the book. I liked the scenario I mean like how Brian was getting food ready from the survival pack and a rescuer comes down. That sounds very different somehow. I also giggled a little about the way Brian spoke to the man. I loved it because it was a happy ending and it was the end of the book.

I think that the message of the story was don't lose hope and stay positive. I think that because there were times where Brian lost hope and everything went bad but when Brian got his hopes up everything went good. Brian also didn't stop trying to get his parents to be together which is important in my opinion. I think stay positive because that is the main key to hope. If Brian didn't stay positive he probably wouldn't have survived.

I didn't really mind this assignment it is just the fact how long it took. This assignment was given a long time to do but yet the assignment was to long. So to improve the assignment I would make it shorter instead of three questions maybe two questions. To improve my working habits with this assignment I should have started since the first day an do a little each day as Mr.Thomas suggested. Instead I waited till Friday and did little onwards from Friday which is not a very good choice.

I would love to read The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. As I have predicted that this book would be good it was good in my friends opinion. It was my first opinion in my choice list yet I didn't get in to it. I want to read it because it sounds like a perfect book a girl would want to read. I have heard about the ending and in my opinion I think that it would be fun to do the assignment on this book instead of Hatchet. I might borrow this book from the library.
