Literature circle 2

I had a passage about Perpich the English teacher. I thought that Perpich was the key to everything Brian has now. We also talked about how he helped and how he didn't. Even though Perpich had helped Brian find food very quickly he didn't give very good advice for other things such as Brian making shelter. He only got the idea by thinking about Terry. I saw this by the end of the discussion because of Lennox and Jane. They totally didn't agree with my opinion. I think the new insight I learnt is that Brian was very negative before thinking about Perpich because Lennox was trying to bring up a point by looking in to Brian's past.

Literature Discussion 3

I found a lot of things interesting but I found one thing most interesting of all.
So this is how it goes-
I said that my least favorite part was when Brian found turtle eggs and ate them raw. I didn't like it because I found it cruel to the mother turtle.
But Euginia took this part as her favorite part and I got really surprised about that. She said that she liked it because he got a better food source. I realized that I hadn't thought about that before and I wanted to learn more about her train of thought so I asked her that did she really liked that he ate them raw.
She replied - well it is better for Brian so that is why it is my favorite part. Which actually made me think in a different way I realized that favorite parts don't need to be for the liking of the scene and that it could be for the good of the character that you could like it. So Euginia's way of seeing things allowed me to see in a different way of the book which made this conversation more interesting than before.

Literature Circle 1 (Hatchet)

In humanities last Tuesday we had a literature circle discussion. Our book is called Hatchet and we had very interesting topics to talk about the book. Everyone in our group had one same passage written down on our response sheet. Which was the passage about when the pilot dies out of a heart attack. Therefore everyone felt different about it because it was very grasping. But I was amazed about how many different ways you could think about that one passage. For example Lennox, Jane and Devashish loved it so much because they found it hilarious it different ways. I wrote it because I thought it was the main reason why all the problems started from. Euginia wrote it because she thought it was well written with good description. I liked a question that was asked it was very grasping to me. The question was why do you think the heart attack was caused. We spent a lot of time discussing that question. But we couldn't come up with a very witty answer our answer was that he was unhealthy. Even though someone mentioned that he could have been poisoned. We had a lot of fun discussing chapters 1 and 2 from Hatchet. Uptil now I think Hatchet is a good book. So that was our period's discussion that I found something I should point out.
